無書 - Instructions
1. What does 無書 consist of?
無書 consists of various texts and collections of words.
- “P-Entries”: a collection of words and sentences, called “entries”. The term “entry” is written as “語” and temporarily has the pronunciation “NA”. - The idea of this work is to collect arguably interesting ways of connecting different concepts into thoughts, ideas etc. and ask questions around them.
- “無 Commentary”: a collection of sentences expanding on “P-Entries” and also adding new words unrelated to “P-Entries”. - The idea of this work is to expand upon the entries to add new ideas and thoughts, invoke new associations, provide new questions, but also add entirely new ones.
2. How to read “P-Entries”
“P-Entries” consists of rows and columns of text. The columns are as follows:
- ID: a numerical value starting at “1”. The value is used to uniquely identify each entry. It also shows an order of composition.
- Date: a date written in the “day/month/year” format. The date is used to identify the date of composition for each entry.
- Entry: a sequence of words, between and including one and twelve. The entry represents a thought, idea, question or sentence. It can be thought of as asking: “Could you think about this sequence of words?”
- Example: a sequence of words, ranging up to ca. 80 characters or 15 words. The example is used to expand upon the entry. This provides one possible thought that can be thought about from the entry.
3. How to read “無 Commentary”
“無 Commentary” consists of text (called “comments”) divided by date and ID. The date is written in the format “day.month.year” and the ID as “[#]”, where “#” is the numerical value. Everything after “[#]” until the next “[#]” or a date is one unique comment.
A “comment” is a collection of sentence(s) used to invoke thoughts, ideas and ask questions. If written as a declarative statement, it should still be understood as asking a question, e.g. “A is B.” as “Do you think ‘A is B.’?”.
When reading e.g. “#1”, this means: “‘P-Entries’-entry with ID ‘1’”. This makes a reference to an entry for expanding it or otherwise incorporating it into the comment.
